Christ Church
Christ Church in the Age of Washington Tour- Woven into guided tours of "The Nation's Church" are stories which highlight the personalities and events that occurred at Christ Church in the 1790s when Philadelphia was the nation's capital. Visit the church attended by many of the founding fathers including George Washington, Benjamin Franklin and Absalom Jones. Guided tours last about 20 minutes and are given throughout the day. The church is open Monday-Saturday from 9 AM-5 PM; Sunday from 1 PM-5 PM. Free, donations accepted. Groups of 25 or more should make a reservation for a tour. If you plan on visiting the church for a tour on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 9-11 AM, please call ahead. The church may be closed for an organ rehearsal.

Christ Church
Interpretive Program-Christ Church presents Sarah's Story: Slavery in Philadelphia. You will hear stories about slavery and its connection to Christ Church. It is an interpretive drama appropriate for all audiences featuring "Sarah," a costumed interpreter who relates her daily life as an enslaved person in colonial Philadelphia, "Mr. Edwards," who presents the view point of a slave owner, along with a guide who provides perspective and historical overview. The presentation is followed by a discussion.

Christ Church Burial Ground
The Christ Church Burial Ground is closed in January and February.
Join in the celebration honoring Benjamin Franklin on Friday, January 15, 2010.
At 11 AM, a procession will form at the American Philosophical Society's Library, located at
105 S. 5th Street, and proceed to the Christ Church Burial Ground, corner of 5th and Arch Streets, where a wreath will be laid on Franklin's grave and tributes to Benjamin Franklin will be offered.
